The Wood School

The Wood School

The Woodschool Ltd. is a unique collective enterprise near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. It was set up to make use of the large quantities of locally grown hardwood timber which were not of sufficiently high quality to be exported and was going to waste. It now has a wide range of seasoned timbers, and workshops for furniture designers and makers, who can take advantage of shared marketing and administrative expertise. In addition to one-off items of furniture they have a range of flooring, worktops and fitted furniture.

The images show sawn timber drying in the yard, and an oak bench made by John Johnston.

Woodschool Ltd., Monteviot Nurseries, Ancrum, by Jedburgh, TD8 6TU.
